Our Technology
E-Signature uses a Quadra Regression process, developed in-house, to convert your paper based signatures and logos into scaleable vector images.
| Bitmap Image
You may have heard of the expression "bitmap image". This refers to all computer images that are made up of a series of dots, or "pixels", that together form an image. This is the type of file you will get when you use a scanner or digital camera. Some common file types include .jpeg (or .jpg), .bmp, .gif, .tif, etc. The larger your image, the more pixels you need in order to keep things looking sharp. This also means that larger images have much bigger file sizes. |
Vector Image
Unlike bitmaps, vector images are made up of lines and arcs and they outline a shape (in fonts, these are called "glyphs"). Because mathematical expressions are used to define the shape, the glyph can be easily resized, stretched or skewed without any increase in file size. Changing the image size is also known as "scaling" and the fact that the file size does not change is the biggest advantage of this type of artwork. |

When we receive signature or logo artwork, we convert your bitmap
material to a vector format. Our Quadra Regression Technology
makes this a snap and produces far better results than what is
currently available using off-the-shelf font development tools.

This is what a sample scanned signature looks like when it is saved as a bitmap file.

Here is an example of the bitmap file converted to vector art using a conventional tracing process. Notice how the curves are not smooth and the intersections of the lines appear melded together.

The vector image superimposed over the signature was done using our Quadra Regression process. Notice how the lines are much smoother and the intersections are at perfect angles. Most importantly, notice how many fewer black dots are required to produce this image. Our process uses almost two thirds less points to define the image and this means your font size is smaller and loads faster.
